work. As in, when i click on any of the converter function eg("quicktime converter") nothing pops up. It used to pop up the converter in another window.
Can anyone help me with this problem? thanks.

Great update with h264. BUT, now got real problems. Will process video producing file size I would expect. But instead of giving average quality 120 minute movie it gives me 15.5 minutes of very high quality. Cannot find any reason. Also disappointed that many of the options have been disabled an this last version.
I intend to roll back to previous version which works. Otherwise is great software and so useful to my, or it was.

Strange. Whenever i want to decode a dvd to xvid or something in the advanced dvd recorder, the screen flips upsidedown. In DVD recorder this doesn't happen. I've tried various tips but none applied to my problem. Even the configuration of the codecs are good. Also when trying to get subtitles in the avi file, there seems to be a problem of the subs appearing and vanishing in 2 millisecs So it's not really readable :/ But for the rest it's a great great problem. Perhaps you guys wanna make a forum??? to make these probs/announces easier to read ;) cheers

Could MPEG4 direct maker has some option to make 2-pass divx encode easier.
At moment, I have o do it all manually . It painful to do this with a lot of file.

I beleive Winvdr pro is extremly easy and powerfull.
How do you make the settings of the TV Tuner, it ask for country code and tuning space etc. in the TV setup option.
I have a promlem when I search the T.V channels one time and leave the area
and close the software, I can not save the sets and next time I should research the T.V channels and I have to do this each time I start the program.

The dvd converter, converting to divx or xvid, doesn't keep the 16:9 of the dvd... that really sucks, however the rest is good.

Hi. Just wanted to say that this is one of the best products I've ever seen. A year ago I looked at ALL the options available at CNET Download and Tucows and I chose WinADR because of it's simplicity and clean interface. It doesn't look like it was written by a semi-pro using Visual Basic nor does it require any complicated settings or optional open-source plug-ins. It does what I want it to do. Maybe it does more, but for my needs it's perfect. I was using WinADR on Windows ME but just got a new PC with Windows XP Media Center. As soon as I finish loading all my software and data, I'm going to buy a new license for my new XP machine. WinADR and ITunes (yeah, like I'd give money to that mushroom-eating geek in Cupertino) are perfect together.

This program is the greatest bullshit I've ever seen!
Tried to convert a mpg file into a smaller format. Used resize function
and frame reducing. Nothing works. And the best. Neither the internal video
audio player can open the converted file. And believe, I have the whole Nimo Codec Pak 5. This is just a dilemma!

Hi,
I have been using the trial version of the Mpeg4 Direct Maker 4.06 version to convert files into Mp4 format to be viewed on my Sonyericsson P900 but whenever i try to open the file converted with this program i get an error saying "cannot open file" on both the laptop and on the phone. What exactly is the problem?

like your software, but the quality of the mpgs it makes is crap. divx is ok though. you need to add to the 'dumbed down' mpg setting options or at least make it look good with the limited options there.

This software works exceptionally well, with one quirk:
While converting a Quicktime .MOV file to MPEG (VCD or SVCD quality), the audio is not always synced up with the video. When I played the file in Quicktime and showed the extended information, it showed what seemed to be a variable frame rate ranging just above and just below the PAL specification (the video said it was 25fps)
Also, the same problem occurs when coverting DVD to MPEG. Just wondering if anyone else had this problem as well.

SUPERB LITTLE BUT GOOD PROGRAM :
DV MPEG4 MAKER !!!
Are not anothers programs CAN work with DV and produce also in REALTIME , avi ,divx ecc..., DVMPEG4MAKER , make and really well!
I like only say 2 things
1) Every file/recorded more big of 2GB is corrupt (CHUCK ERROR..)
2) This program he really NEED a good timer/day/start/stop programmer !!

WinVDR is great. much easier to use than WIN TV PVR and V. dub. as soon as i can get the noise on my audio stream cleaned up, i will register. your guest book looks like a free for all spam board..............later

Winvdr is extremly easy and powerfull. Your PC becomes into a real VCR, but with al lot quality. We can record TV programs, family videos and much more and burn it in CD. However, I see a little bit of bugs in the program, it could be better, but works to me.

I have 2 good suggestions for MPEG4 directmaker 3.1;
1) making mpg 1 and mpg2 files next to avi/wmv. Or a converter for the avi files to get them into mpg1 or mpg2.
How can i now convert your generated avi's into MPG1 and MPG2 ?? I tried other software but there are some compatibilities troubles.
2) possibility to create batches; so i copy 10 dvd's to my HD in 10 dirs and then let my PC convert all 10 movies (or more) during the night.
This way i can encode 10 times as much dvd's per day.
Great if these possibilities would come with the next update (and then I will put your banner on my site and create a "helpfull sofware" category)

I'm testing your current MPEG4 Direct Maker Convert DVD/VCD/QuickTime to Divx/WMV trial software on Windows XP and I'm having problems. When I attempt to use the DVD converter, I get a system not responding problem (the software freezes up). I attempted to use the Advanced DVD converter. It let me select Chapters or the entire DVD...but wouldn't let me do anything else! I kept getting "Stop converting Chapter 032.The generated file is:G:\My Movies\Video-20030423-233820.wmv
This User Operation is inhibited by DVD Content at this time." error message. This looks like excellent software...if it really works!! Please help and I promise you'll have a lifelong customer...

Hi
Just wanted to complement your on the winvdr program.
It's the first vdr program that i have got to work with no problem(that is using win98, dosen't work(for me) using xp.
So far I have tried powerwcr (no go!!) and snapstream (not quite the same..but no go)..
Winvdr just worke rigth away.
Im using an old hauppauge Win PCI as tv tuner on my pent 1GH pc for your information.
Looking forward to the next release wich should include a timer function and the possibility to see a program beeing recorded fullscreen while it's being recorded.
